Prerequisites:
- Access to the Classroom Management
How to start and stop a class:
1. Click Classes under the Classroom Management drop-down.
2. Click the Start Session for classes not started, or Join Session button for classes already started.
- My Classes show classes that you are the teacher of record on from your SIS/MIS sync, or classes that you have been manually added to as a co-teacher.
- All Classes will show if you have access to view all the classes in your organization.
- Classes In Session will list any class still active (meaning the class hasn't been ended).
- Show only current classes will show the current semester courses.
3. When you start your session, it will take you to your classroom screen. From here you can view and manage student devices during your instructional time.
4. To stop session, click and this will stop the class session and return to the main classroom home page. It will state that the session has stopped at the top of the screen.
**NOTE** If a teacher does not end a class, the student will stay under the control of that teacher until one of the following criteria is met:
- Another teacher connects to the student in the next class; priority is given to the most recently connected teacher.
or
- The system times the connection out after 12 hours of inactivity.
In summary, while controls from a forgotten session may persist on a student's device, the student's device will typically transition to the new teacher's session when it begins, but the old session's controls will remain active until manually disabled or the session officially stopped.
